In the summer of 2021, collegiate athletes were allowed to make money off their name, image, and likeness (NIL) for the first time ever. This new rule has impacted recruiting, the social media presence and branding of college athletes, and businesses who choose to sponsor them. This brought up the question: What if the NIL would have been allowed in previous years and how would it have changed the landscape of collegiate sports?
